OMG MSG: Food, Art, and the Asian Diaspora

From specialty matcha drinks to ube donuts to boba shops on nearly every corner, diasporic Asian food has infiltrated the mainstream culture and transformed the culinary landscape across the United States. Yet, the food is still plagued with misconception and discrimination. Through an artistic lens, this exhibition will attempt to dispel some of the fallacies surrounding Asian ingredients, celebrate its cultural significance, and discuss food as legacy.
