🚨 RFQ | Artists in Schools Program
📅 Deadline: Monday, August 11 @ 11:55pm MST
💸 Budget: $3,000 plus $500 materials budget

The Chandler Arts Commission, Chandler Unified School District, and Kyrene School District are looking for four Arizona-based artists to teach a series of classes over approximately three weeks in Chandler middle/junior high schools in early 2026.

The selected artists will work with City and school staff to develop and lead a series of lessons during the school day. The lessons will be based around each artist’s individual skillset and provide meaningful opportunities for students to engage with a professional artist.

For our milestone 30th annual Art Quilts exhibition, we invite fiber artists to explore the power of minimalism. With the constant onslaught of news media around us, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and disconnected from the world around us. As a respite from these intense narratives, exploring minimalism through art offers a refreshing ✨Palette Cleanser✨, inviting us to reflect on simplicity in a chaotic world.

Maybe your best work is known for its clean lines or its geometric shapes. Do you use a limited or monotoned color palette? Does negative space play a big role in your art? However you use minimalism in your art quilts, we want to see your submissions for the 30th Annual Art Quilt exhibition. This exhibition will take place at the Vision Gallery.

ABOUT THE JUROR
Susan Allred is a textile and fiber artist living in Tempe, Arizona. She is known for her transformative quilt work and has appeared in numerous solo and group exhibitions, most recently in a two-person show at the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum. She was an artist member at Eye Lounge contemporary art space and served as co-president for two years.

Vision Gallery will be closed for all Saturdays in

Vision Gallery will be closed for all Saturdays in July! This includes the dates July 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.

Don't worry though, we will still be open regular hours 10am - 5pm, Mon-Fri. This closure does not include the gallery at @chandlerarts so be sure to go check out the solo show "Shifting to Joy" to be immersed by the vibrant and playful abstractions by Mike Margolis.

📣Drop in for our last Saturday event until August and join us for "Make and Take: DIY Stickers" This a free self led activity for all ages. Children are welcome to participate with assistance from an adult. Check the link in our bio for more information.
