For many of us, creativity also spills into what we do when we clock out, whether that be nurturing a relaxing hobby, developing skills in a craft, or finding solace through artistic expression. UNLOVABLE
Vision Gallery 10 E Chicago St, Chandler, AZ, United StatesBats, rats, gnats, oh my! From the creepy to the crawly, this open call exhibition invited Arizona based artists to submit work of animals that are often deemed Unlovable by the general public. Artists were encouraged to reimagine these creatures through unique perspectives, whether by emphasizing their beauty, strangeness, resilience or symbolic power. With artwork ranging from arachnoids to marsupials, these misunderstood animals will be sure to delight and fright folks of all ages. Make and Take: DIY Pet Snake

Create your very own slithery snake using melty beads, pipe cleaners, pony beads, and googly eyes. Once you’re done, bring your adopted friend back to their new home! Everything you need to craft your friend is provided. This is a free, self-led activity for all ages. Children are welcome to participate with assistance from an adult. Registering for a time slot helps us plan, but drop-ins are welcome! RSVP

The Collectionists: Heidi Dauphin & Laura Spalding Best
Vision Gallery 10 E Chicago St, Chandler, AZ, United StatesIn 2024, Heidi Dauphin and Laura Spalding Best were paired up to create an installation for Artlink’s Annual Gala at the Phoenix Art Museum. The two initially were uncertain how their practices would mesh as Dauphin is a mixed media/ceramic artist while Best is best known for her found object paintings and murals. However, after their first meeting, they formed an instant connection and friendship. Their conversations lasted for hours, discussing their individual practices.
