Last chance to see M|otherworlds is this weekend!!🌷👀🔍

Let’s take a closer look at “The Garden Floor” by Katie Parker and Guy Michael Davis, the artists behind Future Retrieval. A captivating piece featured in our new exhibition, M|otherworlds. This work continues the duos exploration of botanical imagery, mycology, and marbled end sheets found in 19thC rare books.

At first glance you may think this piece is painted or digital but upon taking a closer look, this piece is entirely made with hand cut paper! Quite a meticulous process that helps to translate the world around us. The process allowed Katie to move slowly in the studio during her early postpartum period, after the birth of twins, as she adapted to creating a new world at home.

Just over one week left to see our M|otherworlds exhibit!!⏰

A piece by Tai Lipan, whose practice is deeply shaped by motherhood and the rhythms of family life. During the pandemic, she and her three children explored Midwestern creeks, discovering ancient fossils. These small moments of wonder that sparked a powerful body of work.

Rooted in those shared discoveries, her pieces reflect on extinction, ecosystems, and the fleeting magic of childhood curiosity. Each work serves as a love letter to the intimate connection between parent and child, past and present. Fossil forms become vessels for memory and love.

This is a free, self-led activity for all ages. Children are welcome to participate with assistance from an adult. Registering for a time slot helps us plan, but drop-ins are welcome!
