🤩Take a look at Heidi Dauphins insanely intricate 🤩Take a look at Heidi Dauphins insanely intricate work in "Palette Cleanser", “Penny Date Quilt (My Life So Far)” and “Every 28 (or 21) Days for 31 years” You read that right folks, she used pennies on a quilt and birth control packets on another! Read below to find out more about these amazing quilts🪙🤑 “I started working with pennies in my art 20 years ago and I have been collecting them my entire life. This is the first time I have ever stitched pennies and sewn them into a quilt. I am always fascinated when I pick up a penny and look at the date. I think to myself, “What do I remember about that year?” I don’t do this with other coins and I don’t know why. Each row of this quilt represents a decade in my life and shows a penny with the date on it starting in 1970 and going to 2025. It’s a bit daunting to see your life spread out in a grid of squares and circles.” -Heidi Dauphin on, “Penny Date Quilt (My Life So Far)” “I have been taking the birth control pill for 31 years and I recently stopped taking it this year. This quilt is made from the last pack of pills that I took in February 2025. I was admittedly very scared to end this hormone that I had become dependent on for the majority of my life, but at 55 my doctors said it was time. I am now on new hormones and feeling great. ✨🪡The amazing quilting artist behind “Cortex”, Bet ✨🪡The amazing quilting artist behind “Cortex”, Betty Busby, explains to us how her journey in quilting began and what inspires her work today. As early as she can remember, her passion for art has been an integral part of her life. “This creative obsession guided me through my studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, where I majored in ceramics. After graduating, I founded and ran a ceramic tile manufacturing business in Los Angeles for 18 successful years. Eventually, I sold the business to move to New Mexico, and shifted my focus to fiber art. My work is rooted in a spirit of ongoing experimentation.
