Okay. Here’s a question for you. Are you a maximalist or a minimalist? Probably a Maximalist. Yeah. Yeah, probably. Yeah, probably. I mean, let’s do it. We all wanna be a little bit more minimalistic, right? Well, a new art exhibit at the Vision Gallery in Chandler is celebrating, oh, the aesthetic of excess. So if you like a lot of things, if you’re a maximalist, this is for you.
It’s just opening today. So we sent Elena to check it out. Elena, this sounds fun and very interesting, and right up our alley. I was gonna say I’m a maximalist as well. I love more of things, and I feel like this exhibit explores that, but check this out, guys. It gives a little bit of nostalgia. Do you remember those beads that you used to put on a stencil and then you would iron it on?
That piece incorporates all different kinds of designs, but there are so many different mediums. That this new exhibit goes through. So Hanley here with Vision Gallery is joining me this morning because I think the real question, like you guys asked is that, are you a minimalist or maximalist? Obviously we want everyone to explore being a maximalist and I feel like this gallery does just that.
Oh, definitely. I’m personally a maximalist though. Sure. So, um, maximalism for people that are just tuning in and don’t really know too much about it. What is this gallery exploring? So maximalism is typically defined by bright colors, bold patterns, and exaggerated forms. Mm-hmm. So this exhibition really is a celebration of that form of self-expression.
Yeah, and I’m seeing so many different colors. I’m seeing so many different eras like I just mentioned over there. That just really transported me back to my childhood. Those beads that you get to iron on, then. We’re seeing a lot of different art from a lot of local artists. Mm-hmm. Yeah. All of the artists in the show except for one, are locally based and the materials really do range, like there’s craft based materials as well as more fine art materials, so there’s definitely a contrast there.
Why did the Vision Gallery want to incorporate maximalism in this way? Uh, honestly, to really inspire just positivity and optimism, and hopefully people leave feeling more inspired to have fun and express themselves. I feel like kids would go nuts in this gallery. Like the emoji bean bags, I mean the colors.
How could you not go crazy for this? Oh yeah. They have been going crazy for it. It’s only been open for two days and I love it. I was gonna say you just opened it. Um, what do people need to know if they wanna come by and check out the exhibit? Yeah, so Vision Gallery is open to Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and admission is free.
Oh, it’s so fun, Hanley. Thank you so much. We’re gonna actually talk to Hanley again at seven Guys because guess what? Not only is this the so fun gallery, but they have a so fun day they wanna tell you about that incorporates this new gallery here. So coming up at seven, we’re gonna tell you more info about that because that’s coming up in October.
Fingers crossed Paul. That in October. It’s a little cooler so we can go inside and outside. Oh, well Paul says no more. One tens after today. So he is making some bold promises and also then I’m gonna hold into that. And also, I don’t know if he better be right. If you heard this, Elena, he said if it does get one 10, we get to throw a pie in his face.
So get ready for that. I love that idea. I love that idea. We’ll check in with you at seven. Thanks Selena. Love all the colors. Kind of nostalgic too. Bringing you back to Chad.

Yeah, I would love them to take away a sense of positivity and optimism. Mm-hmm. And feeling more empowered to express themselves, especially through maximalism. I know you talked about it a little bit already, but what do people need to know if they wanna come by the exhibit? But also if they wanna mark their calendars for So Fun day on October 4th.
